Election season in 2024 has officially come to a close and we will have a new President in the White House come January. There are undoubtedly a wide range of opinions, feelings, thoughts & concerns around the outcome of this election and we thought it might be helpful to offer some encouragement to our community.

Regardless of personal opinions on who sits in the White House, we recognize many of our missions stay the same. I am sure we can all appreciate the infinite text message ads coming to an end. The noise and hype can tend to get overwhelming for all of us. Hopefully now that things have quieted down a bit we can all continue to focus on the roles we play making our city better as a whole. There are and will continue to be issues that persist within our system. Candidates come and go. But our neighbors and people we commune with on a daily, weekly, monthly basis are here to stay. We must remember, despite partisan politics, that we are better off with each other than without. We believe that ideal has contributed heavily to the changes we have seen be made in our city in recent years. It is our hope to see that same ideal permeate throughout the country as a whole.

One of the things that makes Hunt Street such a great place is that many of us come from different places all around the world. Not something that you see often in Detroit, but a microcosm of how we imagine the city will look in it’s future. As the population continues to rise, and quieted voices continue to be heard, we will have successfully risen a city from the ground up. And it won’t be thanks to a Republican or Democrat, but the heart the persists within all of us, that it’s Detroit vs. Everybody.
