This September we had the pleasure of hosting our 2nd Annual Evening of Arts, this time with the Detroit Month of Design. Hosted every September by Design Core Detroit, the Month of Design features events and workshops put on by creative organizations and innovators in the city. We took on the challenge of opening our space up throughout the month to hosts who needed a venue for their events, while also planning our own, the Evening of Arts!

The idea for this event was to showcase as many cool creative people as we could in one night. We invited culinary artists like George Azar, chef at Flowers if Vietnam, to come and serve a dish they designed. Visual artists and designers came and showcased their work throughout the building turning our first floor into a gallery. Much of the art is still up on the walls and can be viewed and purchased anytime you visit the building. On the third floor we had our friends Sofar Sounds back in the building live in concert introducing us to new local artists to keep up with.

The night was full of creativity, and fun for everyone who came. We hope to continue hosting the Evening of Arts in the future to keep making our space a part of the growing history of art in Detroit. If you weren’t able to make the event check out our socials (@huntstreetstation) to see some content from the night, and follow us if you aren’t already!
