Special Holiday Events at Hunt Street Station

The 4th Annual Giving Tree
The Giving Tree is actually a very old Hunt Street Station tradition but we’re proud to have brought it back now for the 4th year in a row.
Back in 1908, Captain Marquardt of Detroit’s Metropolitan Police Department started a tradition of having a Christmas tree in the lobby of Hunt Street Station. Both the station’s officers and members of the public placed gifts and money under the tree so that every child in the neighborhood could have a merry Christmas.
Now, for the fourth time since reopening as a coworking space, we’re continuing this tradition. Please join us in making the holidays just a little bit better for the children of Detroit by supporting the Hunt Street Station giving tree.
This year we have the privilege to help low-income families and their children who live in our Mcdougall-Hunt neighborhood. We will be partnering with the Bailey Park Project and Mcdougall-Hunt Neighborhood Association to complete our fundraising goals. We ask for your assistance in helping us to bring joy to low-income families during this holiday season.

The McDougall-Hunt Christkindl Market
In early December, Hunt Street Station will also host a Christkindl Market where you can buy or sell all sorts of wonderful holiday treats or crafts and enjoy festive entertainment.
Do you or someone you know make delicious treats, holiday crafts, or know how to put on a delightful holiday show? If so, become a vendor at our Christkindl Market!
Bakers: Do you bake delicious treats like cookies, cakes, pies, or candies? There will be plenty of hungry shoppers to please!
Crafters: Are you a creative crafter/maker? The market is a perfect place to sell unique products, art, ornaments, etc.
Entertainers: Do you have a secret skill like acting in a Christmas short, doing a poetry slam, or sing Christmas carols? Charge a cover or just play for tips and let everyone watch you perform!
The market will be open:
- Friday, December 3rd from 4pm to 9pm
- Saturday, December 4th from 12:00pm to 9:00pm
